Tea Bags

I'm drinking a lot of tea lately and I love trying different types of teas. I came across this very cute Tea Bag in Etsy by RubysPlayground. It holds up to 4 tea bags. Not much, but it's perfect for on the go. I mean, how much tea can you really drink in one day anyways?LinkMy two favorites are the green dotted one at the middle bottom and the blue flowered one at the bottom right corner.

VcynhekalDesigns: Mini Bites

I'm so proud of my cousin! She's always loved cooking and baking and she's now making it something she could earn some money on. She started her own mini store at Etsy where she's going to be selling her mini cupcakes. She came over and had us taste test her mini bites and pick our favorites. They come in blueberry, strawberry, raspberry and blackberry. Although she can make others if she's asked. She can even mix and match the icing colors too.
The icing has got to be the best I've ever tasted. Very light and fluffy. She also told me it's not as fatty as other icing. Exactly how I like it. I must learn how to make her icing.

My favorite is the raspberry, although my cousins and husbands like blueberry the best. The blueberry has a lot of flavor and there's no denying that it's blueberry. The strawberry taste is very mild, not as strong as blueberry. I'm not sure, but she may test it out again with more strawberries.

Either way, they're the perfect dessert. They're very mini, so you can pop it in your mouth in one bite. This also gives you the option to try all the other flavors without getting full. That's one of the downsizes to larger cupcakes. It doesn't give you a chance to try other flavors because you still have to finish the large cupcake.

Corn Beef Potatoes

I was talking with a coworker of mine and we somehow got into the subject of "poor" food. What we thought was considered cheap and easy yet tastes great. This is one of my "poor" food. Corn beef, potatoes and onions. Well, and rice. Rice just has to be a part of the meal. I don't think it would taste as good without it. I wanted tomatoes in the meal, but we didn't have any. This is cheap and easy, but probably not the healthiest. I usually add cabbage to the meal for some greens, but we didn't have any either. I guess this means we have to go shopping. We're running out of ingredients. That's not a bad thing though because it forces us to experiment with what we have.

Fran's Salt Caramels

Okay, this has got to be one of the yummiest chocolates I've ever tasted. My husband's bosses went to Seattle and came back with Fran's Chocolates. Apparently this is one of Obama's favorite chocolate places to go to. They brought my husband back the gray and smoked salt caramels. They're mini chocolate caramels with sea salt sprinkled on top. The salt & sweet mixture blended perfectly together. The caramel was more of a buttery caramel. I'm too huge of a caramel fan, but this one just about made me a fan. I found out their caramel is made with all organic ingredients. Makes you feel less guilty about eating all that sweet goodness. My personal favorite was the gray salt caramels. The packaging was very cute, but it's not Fran's packaging. One of my husband's coworkers created the box so he could bring the chocolate home to me.

Basil & Mustard Salmon

Hmm...I think I had a problem making the salmon this time. It was a little too dry. The mustard coating was made well, if you like a lot of mustard. We had Ritz crackers sprinkled all over the top, which I was pretty excited for. When you actually bite into it though, you can't taste the crackers at all. Not even the crunchiness of the crackers. I had a bit of basil in the mustard coating, but the mustard overpowered the taste. Overall, I wasn't really a fan of this meal. I still have to try and figure out what to add to make it taste better. My husband liked it, but he could have been saying that to be nice. Haha, nah. He usually tells me the truth. I think it was more because he likes mustard.

Chicken Quesadilla

We had tons of leftover chicken, so we thought it would be be easy to just use the rest to make chicken quesadilla's. We had these tortilla's that were humongous! Seriously, I think it was bigger than my face. Lots of cheese, chicken, peppers and tomatoes make great quesadilla. We had these Serrano peppers though that we were brave enough to try and include. Not sure if that was a good idea. At least for me since I can't handle too much spice. My mouth was burning with each bite of a pepper. Next time we make quesadilla's, I'm going to opt out the serrano peppers. They made it hard for me to really enjoy the meal.

This was only half of the gigantic tortilla!

Chinese Chicken Salad & Tomato Basil Soup

We wanted something fairly simple and healthy for dinner, so we chose Chinese Chicken Salad and Tomato Basil Soup. The soup fit perfectly with the weather. Ira's version of tomato basil soup turned out real good. It competed with Safeway's tomato basil soup, which happens to be the best kind we've tasted yet. At first we thought it wouldn't taste as good because it wasn't as thick as we'd like. After tasting it a bit, I don't think it would have tasted as good if it were thicker. It had the right amount of tomato and cream. Next time we'll try more basil though.

The salad could have used more dressing, but it was still pretty tasty. We need a crusher for the ramen noodles. Super easy to make. Just cabbage, crushed ramen noodles and shredded chicken. I did cheat though and use the pre-baked chicken at Lucky's. Next time I'll make it all from scratch, when I'm less hungry.

Overall, a very yummy dinner. The only thing missing was garlic bread to go with the soup. I think I can eat this forever.
